A step by step tutorial on how to crochet your own stretch sensor. The resistance of this sensors lessens as you stretch and pull it, also if you scrunch in up. This is made by single crocheting in the round. From experimenting with different hook gauges, yarns, number of stitches for the diameter and so forth, I have found the specific values and materials listed in this tutorial to give you a reliable sensor each time. Having said that, take this as a start to learning a new basic skill from which you can build your own soft sensor from.
Experiment with the diameter and the length of the cylinder… even disregard the cylinder and crochet a square swatch with the materials and basic techniques and see how that responds. Good luck and email or comment with any questions!
